Jose Marques, PhD

Chief Executive Officer

Jose Marques, PhD

Dr. Marques is the Chief Executive Officer of Intech, responsible for overseeing the firm’s overall operations, including its strategic direction, organizational structure, and communications with the Board of Directors. As an executive director on Intech’s Board, Dr. Marques brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, both on the buy- and sell-side, offering a wealth of knowledge in managing and guiding companies globally. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he is deeply committed to delivering business results while maintaining a relentless focus on client needs.

Before joining Intech, Dr. Marques was the CEO of Entrypoint Capital, a quantitative investment management firm specializing in global equity market neutral strategies. Prior to founding Entrypoint Capital, Dr. Marques served as Head of Trading at Bridgewater Associates, managing all operational aspects of the firm’s trading business, including counterparty management, risk management, cost control, and technology development, as well as integrating liquidity inputs into Bridgewater’s investment process. His previous experience also includes serving as Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, where he held dual roles as Global Head of Equity Electronic Trading and Global Head of Execution Product Development, overseeing a global team of 640 employees across trading, sales, marketing, and technology. Dr. Marques has also held roles at Credit Suisse, Hull Trading (Goldman Sachs), and Morgan Stanley, specializing in trading and statistical arbitrage.

Dr. Marques holds a PhD in Physics from the University of California and served as a research faculty member at Northwestern University. He has published research in peer-reviewed journals and received significant funding from the U.S. Department of Energy for his work at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

Ryan Stever, PhD

Ryan Stever, PhD

Dr. Stever is part of Intech’s leadership team and serves as the Chief Investment Officer. He is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous evolution of Intech’s investment strategies, ensuring the firm leverages leading-edge quantitative and analytical resources to capitalize on evolving capital markets. Dr. Stever also oversees Intech’s research technology platform, driving innovation and maintaining the firm’s competitive edge in the industry.

Before being named Chief Investment Officer in January 2025, Dr. Stever served as Co-Chief Investment Officer and, prior to that, as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, beginning in September 2022. Dr. Stever has extensive experience in the investment management field, having held leadership positions at renowned firms, including BlackRock as Managing Director and Head of Quantitative Strategies at Aperio, Citadel as Senior Researcher and Director of Equity Investment Research, and Acadian Asset Management as Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Co-Director of Global Equity Research. Earlier in his career, he served as a Financial Economist at the Bank for International Settlements and began his career as a Research Associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Dr. Stever holds an MS and PhD in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Vassar College.

Lance Campbell, CFA

Lance Campbell, CFA

Mr. Campbell is a seasoned finance and operations leader with over 30 years of experience in driving operational excellence and aligning global business functions to support organizational strategy. As a member of Intech’s leadership team, he oversees enterprise-level initiatives that promote operational efficiency across departments. He oversees teams responsible for the firm’s finance, human resources, compliance, and legal functions, ensuring that these areas are seamlessly integrated to support the company’s strategic objectives.

Before joining Intech, Mr. Campbell held senior finance roles at Trust Company of America and its affiliates, where he played a pivotal role in strategic financial decision-making and drove key initiatives to optimize financial operations. Prior to that, he spent four years at Berger Financial Group (a former Intech affiliate), managing investment accounting and finance functions. Early in his career, he provided assurance services and advised clients across diverse industries for PricewaterhouseCoopers, and gained further expertise in fund accounting and operations for Invesco.

Mr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, underscoring his commitment to excellence and professional growth.

Paul Cassell

Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer

Paul Cassell

Mr. Cassell is part of Intech’s leadership team and oversees all aspects of technology within the organization, including network and telephony infrastructure design, application development and support, systems engineering, administration, end-user services, and information security. He plays a critical role in ensuring that the firm’s technological infrastructure aligns with its business strategy and supports operational excellence.

With a strong background in IT leadership, Mr. Cassell brings a wealth of experience to Intech. Before joining the firm, he held senior positions at NYSE-Euronext, including Chief Information Officer and Chief Operations Officer. His career began as the Head Equity Trader for IBM Retirement Funds, providing him with valuable insight into both the business and client aspects of the industry.

Mr. Cassell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Sacred Heart University. He is an Agile Scrum Master and holds Scrum Master Certification. Additionally, he has led technology efforts for nine M&A transactions and two successful IPOs with Archipelago LLC and the New York Stock Exchange.

Bart Gancher, CSCP

Bart Gancher, CSCP

Mr. Gancher is a seasoned compliance and risk management leader with extensive experience in regulatory oversight and financial services compliance. As a member of Intech’s leadership team, he serves as Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing the firm’s compliance program and ensuring the effective implementation of company policies and procedures. He works closely with the leadership team to navigate legal and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the firm’s adherence to industry standards.

Before assuming his current role in March 2022, Mr. Gancher served as Vice President of Risk and Compliance at Intech, playing a key role in strengthening the firm’s compliance framework. Prior to joining Intech, he spent over 12 years with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Examinations, where he served as a Securities Compliance Examiner and Staff Accountant before advancing to Branch Chief, overseeing investment company and investment adviser examinations.

Mr. Gancher earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration with Distinction from Nova Southeastern University. He is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) and holds its Certified Securities Compliance Professional (CSCP) designation, underscoring his expertise in regulatory compliance and risk management.

Allison Koonin

Ms. Koonin is a seasoned client relations and operations leader with extensive experience in optimizing client engagement and service delivery within the financial services industry. As a member of Intech’s leadership team, she oversees initiatives that enhance the client experience for both Intech’s clients and consultants. She oversees teams responsible for client relationship management and client operations, ensuring these functions are seamlessly integrated to support the company’s strategic objectives.

Before joining Intech, Ms. Koonin held senior roles at leading financial institutions, including Lazard Asset Management, Schroders Investment Management, J.P. Morgan, and Neuberger Berman. Her expertise spans strategic relationship management, portfolio servicing, and operational efficiency. Most recently, she served in a senior leadership role at a global IT consulting firm, where she led strategic planning, marketing, and sales initiatives, driving business growth and enhancing client satisfaction.

Ms. Koonin holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with Honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, underscoring her analytical mindset and commitment to excellence.

James Wylie

James Wylie

Mr. Wylie is a senior business development executive with deep expertise in investment management and institutional client engagement. As a member of Intech’s leadership team, he is responsible for driving business growth by delivering investment solutions to current and prospective clients and consultants. He works closely with the Relationship Management Team to expand Intech’s market presence, cultivate strategic partnerships, and align the firm’s offerings with the evolving needs of institutional investors.

With a strong background in global business development, Mr. Wylie has worked with clients across North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. His experience spans roles at Spouting Rock Asset Management, MacKay Shields LLC, Acadian Asset Management, and Barclays Global Investors, N.A., where he specialized in developing strategic investment solutions and fostering key institutional relationships.

Mr. Wylie earned his MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from Colgate University. He currently holds the FINRA Series 7, 26, and 63 licenses, underscoring his commitment to industry expertise and professional excellence.

Andre Prawoto

Mr. Prawoto is a seasoned financial services executive with deep expertise in wealth management, corporate strategy, and product development. As a member of Intech’s leadership team, he is responsible for building and shaping the firm’s business in wealth management, aligning Intech’s strategy with growth opportunities in the wealth segment.

Before assuming his current role, Mr. Prawoto served as Chief Marketing Officer for Intech, leading initiatives to enhance the firm’s brand and market presence. Prior to joining Intech, he spent twelve years at American Century Investments, where he held senior roles, including Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development and Head of Product Management. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at JRW, providing marketing and business guidance to asset managers, and held leadership roles at STI Capital Management as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. He began his career in product management at Franklin Templeton Investments.

Mr. Prawoto earned an MBA with honors from the University of San Francisco and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. He also holds the Retirement Management Analyst designation, underscoring his expertise in retirement solutions and financial strategy.

Katherine Hardenbergh

Katherine Hardenbergh

Ms. Hardenbergh plays a key leadership role on Intech’s investment team, supporting Dr. Stever, Chief Investment Officer, in developing, implementing, and managing the firm’s quantitative investment strategies. She leads research initiatives, oversees portfolio construction and risk management, and works closely with other teams to ensure the firm delivers superior investment performance while aligning with client objectives.

In January 2025, Ms. Hardenbergh was named Deputy Chief Investment Officer after serving as Director of Research. Prior to joining Intech, she gained valuable experience at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as Vice President of Execution Consulting in Equities Electronic Trading. Most recently, Ms. Hardenbergh worked at Acadian Asset Management as Vice President and Portfolio Manager, where she focused on Responsible Investing strategies.

Ms. Hardenbergh holds a Master of Science in Mathematics in Finance from New York University and dual bachelor’s degrees from Lehigh University in Information & Systems Engineering and Integrated Business & Engineering, with a specialization in Finance.

Adrian Banner, PhD

Adrian Banner, PhD

Dr. Banner is a seasoned investment leader with deep expertise in quantitative strategies, portfolio management, and financial research. He serves as Portfolio Manager and Head of Australia, overseeing investment portfolios and representing the firm in the region. He also serves as an executive director on Intech’s Board of Directors, contributing to the firm’s strategic direction.

Since joining Intech, Dr. Banner has played a pivotal role in the firm’s research efforts, gaining extensive knowledge of its trading systems, optimization programs, and quantitative investment strategies. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer from 2009 until the end of 2024 and led the firm as Chief Executive Officer from November 2012 to March 2022.

Dr. Banner holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from Princeton University and earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He has lectured on the stability of market capitalization and low-volatility equity portfolios at academic and professional conferences and has authored several scholarly papers on Stochastic Portfolio Theory. His book, The Calculus Lifesaver, has been widely praised for its clarity and effectiveness in helping students master calculus.

Jian Tang, PhD

Jian Tang, PhD

Dr. Tang is a portfolio manager and a key member of Intech’s investment team, playing a critical role in the implementation and enhancement of the firm’s investment process. He focuses on applying quantitative techniques to optimize portfolio construction and drive investment performance.

Before joining Intech, Dr. Tang was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York, where he designed and maintained quantitative frameworks for portfolio construction, asset allocation, and alpha generation across a range of investment strategies. Prior to that, he was a Quantitative Research Associate at JP Morgan Chase, leading stochastic modeling assignments for interest rate derivatives, including bond futures and options.

Dr. Tang earned his PhD in Experimental Particle Physics from the University of Chicago, where he also worked as a research associate and teaching assistant in the Department of Physics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Tang has obtained his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and has authored multiple academic publications in mathematical finance and physics journals.

Paul Duchnowski, ScD

Paul Duchnowski, ScD

Dr. Duchnowski is a Portfolio Manager and key member of Intech’s investment team, responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to optimize investment strategies, enhance portfolio performance, and drive operational efficiency. He develops advanced models, algorithms, and tools to extract actionable insights from complex financial data.

Before joining Intech, Dr. Duchnowski held key roles at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. and GMO, LLC, where he worked as a Quantitative Analyst with a particular focus on signals from unstructured data and neural-linguistic programming (NLP). Most recently, he contributed his expertise at Acadian Asset Management, serving as an Investment Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, and Researcher, developing and managing quantitative strategies within the Equity Alternatives Group.

Dr. Duchnowski earned a Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds a MicroMasters Certificate in Finance from MITx. In addition, Dr. Duchnowski has authored several scientific papers and holds three patents.

Richard Yasenchak, CFA

Richard Yasenchak, CFA

Mr. Yasenchak plays a key role in representing Intech’s Portfolio Management Team by facilitating sales presentations, client reviews, and other initiatives, effectively communicating the firm’s investment process and strategies. He works closely with the Relationship Management Tean, and Business Development teams to support client meetings, both on-site and off-site, providing sophisticated insights into Intech’s strategies’ performance attribution and market trends.

Before joining Intech, Mr. Yasenchak spent almost nine years at Russell Investments, where he managed portfolios totaling $5 billion in U.S. equity defensive funds, quantitative funds, midcap funds, separate accounts, and beta strategies for institutional and individual clients. His work at Russell included portfolio analysis, asset allocation strategy, risk budgeting, portfolio risk exposure, client presentations, and manager research.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Yasenchak served as the Director of Curriculum and Certificate Programs at the Investment Management Consultants Association, where he was responsible for enhancing the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation curriculum in partnership with The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and The Haas School at UC Berkeley, adding topics on derivatives, risk management, and behavioral finance.

Mr. Yasenchak holds a Master of Science in Financial Analysis from the College for Financial Planning, a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and has met the CFP Board’s Certification standards to become a CFP® professional.

Valerie Azuelos

Managing Director, Client Portfolio Manager

Valerie Azuelos

Ms. Azuelos serves as a key liaison between clients and the Portfolio Management Team, working closely with the Relationship Management Team to ensure seamless communication and strategic alignment between client needs and Intech’s investment approach.

Before joining Intech, Ms. Azuelos spent 10 years at SEI, where she held various roles across the firm’s Paris, London, and Philadelphia offices. As a Client Investment Specialist, she was responsible for facilitating communication between the SEI Investment Management Unit, SEI Business Units, and clients, while conducting research and analysis to support business development and client service efforts. Additionally, Ms. Azuelos played a pivotal role in the production and presentation of investment-related client communication materials, including quarterly investment reviews. She also contributed to the SEI U.S. Small Cap Equity Manager Research Team, where her responsibilities included manager selection, portfolio construction, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Ms. Azuelos holds a Master of Science in Finance from Université Paris Dauphine.

Eric Ardito, CFA, CIPM

Mr. Ardito is a Director of Client Portfolio Analytics at Intech, where he plays a critical role in the analysis, reporting, and maintenance of investment performance, portfolio, and performance attribution data for the firm’s products as well as competitor products. He is responsible for gathering and analyzing performance data, ensuring that all departmental processes and systems are effective in supporting the firm’s investment strategies and client objectives.

Prior to joining Intech, Mr. Ardito held various roles within the financial industry, gaining extensive experience in investment analytics and performance evaluation. His expertise spans portfolio performance measurement, data integrity, and the development of tools to support investment research and reporting.

Mr. Ardito earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2012 and also holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM).

Max Moltchanov

He is responsible for gathering and analyzing performance data, ensuring that all departmental processes and systems are effective in supporting the firm’s investment strategies and client objectives.

Prior to joining Intech, Mr. Moltchanov worked as a Performance Analyst at BlackRock, Delaware Investments, and Brandywine Global, where he contributed to various aspects of performance analysis and reporting.

Michael Salita

Michael Salita

Mr. Salita is a Vice President, Quantitative Trader, and a key member of Intech’s investment team. He has successfully advanced in his role over the years, contributing significantly to the firm’s trading operations. Mr. Salita is responsible for managing the portfolio rebalance process and conducting quantitative analysis on trade execution and market trends. He also plays a vital role in programming and implementing enhancements to the firm’s proprietary trading systems, ensuring they align with Intech’s investment strategies and objectives.

Mr. Salita holds degrees in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, with minors in Religion and Visual Arts. He was honored with the merit-based Venable Scholarship at Hampden-Sydney College for his exceptional academic performance.

Mitchell Campbell

Mr. Campbell is a Senior Quantitative Trader at Intech, responsible for implementing the portfolio rebalance process and performing quantitative analysis on trade execution and market trends. As part of the investment team, he plays a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and precision of the firm’s trading operations.

Before joining Intech, Mr. Campbell held roles at Dell Technologies as a Graduate Intern and at KPMG US LLP as a Risk Analytics Advisory Associate, where he honed his expertise in risk analytics and quantitative methods.

Mr. Campbell holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Finance from The College of William & Mary. He earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, underscoring his commitment to professional growth and excellence in the finance industry.

Julia Rose Chin

Ms. Chin is an integral member of Intech’s investment team, contributing to daily operations and executing high-impact projects. She specializes in trading and investment analytics, bringing valuable insights to support the firm’s investment strategies.

Before joining Intech, Ms. Chin worked as a Project Manager and Quantitative Analyst at CARAT Companies. She also served as a Head Teaching Assistant at Stanford University, where she contributed to academic projects, and interned at Proximity Technology GmbH as an Assistant Project Manager.

Ms. Chin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Churchill Franklin

Executive Chairperson

Churchill Franklin

Churchill Franklin serves as Chairperson of the Board at Intech, bringing decades of leadership experience in the asset management industry. He provides strategic guidance and oversight to support the firm’s long-term vision and governance.

Mr. Franklin co-founded Acadian Asset Management LLC in 1986, a quantitative institutional asset management firm with offices in Boston, London, Sydney, and Singapore, overseeing $100 billion in assets under management. He served as Chief Executive Officer beginning in 2013 and later as Chairman before retiring in 2020. Prior to Acadian, he was Assistant Treasurer at Thermo Electron Corporation (now Thermo Fisher Scientific) and a commercial loan officer at Bank of Boston (now Bank of America).

Beyond his professional career, Mr. Franklin has been deeply involved in nonprofit and academic leadership. He is an Emeritus Trustee of Middlebury College, where he also serves on the investment committee for the College’s $1.5 billion endowment. Additionally, he sits on the Boston Advisory Board of the Posse Foundation, the Board of the Whitehead Institute, and the investment committee for the Whitehead Institute’s $800 million endowment.

Mr. Franklin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College, where he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters in 2008.

Since joining Intech, Dr. Banner has played a pivotal role in the firm’s research efforts, gaining extensive knowledge of its trading systems, optimization programs, and quantitative investment strategies. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer from 2009 until the end of 2024 and led the firm as Chief Executive Officer from November 2012 to March 2022.

Dr. Banner holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from Princeton University and earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He has lectured on the stability of market capitalization and low-volatility equity portfolios at academic and professional conferences and has authored several scholarly papers on Stochastic Portfolio Theory. His book, The Calculus Lifesaver, has been widely praised for its clarity and effectiveness in helping students master calculus.

Rosalind Hewsenian

Rosalind Hewsenian

Rosalind “Roz” M. Hewsenian serves as an independent non-executive director on Intech’s Board, bringing extensive experience in institutional investment management and governance. She has held senior leadership positions across asset management, pension consulting, and corporate finance, providing expertise in investment strategy, risk management, and fiduciary oversight.

Most recently, Ms. Hewsenian served as Chief Investment Officer of the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, overseeing the strategic direction of its $8.3 billion investment portfolio. Prior to that, she was a Principal, Managing Director, and Board Member at Wilshire Associates, where she advised major institutional investors, including the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), on asset allocation and risk management strategies. Earlier in her career, she held investment and finance roles at PepsiCo and Kraft General Foods, where she played a key role in developing one of the first 401(k) plans in the U.S.

Ms. Hewsenian has served on multiple boards, including Partners Capital in the U.K., the Foundation Financial Officers Group, and the Investment Advisory Committee of Los Angeles Capital Management. She also advises the Investment Sub-Committee of the SUNY Oneonta College Foundation Board.

Ms. Hewsenian holds an MBA in Finance from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta. She was awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters from SUNY in recognition of her contributions to institutional investing and higher education.

Larry Leibowitz

Independent Non-Executive Director

Larry Leibowitz

Larry Leibowitz serves as an independent non-executive director on Intech’s Board, bringing over 40 years of expertise in capital markets, trading microstructure, regulation, asset management, and quantitative methods. He provides strategic oversight and guidance to support the firm’s governance and long-term objectives.

Mr. Leibowitz is currently Managing Partner at Entrypoint Capital, a Board Director at Cowen Inc., an independent investment bank, and Vice Chairman of Xpansiv, a renewable energy exchange. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at NYSE Euronext, serving as Chief Operating Officer, Head of Global Equities Markets, and Director from 2007 to 2013. His extensive career also includes roles as Chief Operating Officer of Americas Equities at UBS, Co-Head of Schwab Soundview Capital Markets, and CEO of Redibook. Earlier in his career, he was a founding partner at Bunker Capital and served as Managing Director and Head of Quantitative Trading and Equities Technology at CS First Boston.

Mr. Leibowitz earned a degree in Economics from Princeton University.
