Cookie Policy

This is the Cookie Policy of Intech Investment Management LLC (also referred to throughout this policy as ‘Intech’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’ and ‘youor ‘yourself’ may refer to an individual, Independent Financial Advisor, consultant, company, or other entity visiting this website.

When you visit our website, we or a third-party service provider may collect technical and navigational information – this is done using cookies. A cookie is a small data file that is sent by a website’s server to your browser and stored on the hard drive of your computer (or internet enabled device).

1. How We Use Cookies

We collect information about your computer including your Internet Protocol address (“IP address”), operating system, browser type, pages visited, and average time spent on our website. We use this information for a variety of purposes, such as maintaining the security of your online session, online advertising of our products and services, facilitating site navigation, improving our website’s design and functionalities, and personalizing your experience. On their own, cookies do not contain or reveal any personally identifiable information. However, if you choose to furnish us with any personal or financial information, this information can be associated with the data collected by the cookies.

If you continue without disabling cookies, we will assume that you are happy with our use of them as outlined in this Cookie Policy.

2. Types of Cookies We Use and Other Tracking Technologies

Intech uses cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base.

We use cookies to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web server. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. A cookie tells the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you register for downloadable content on our website, a cookie helps us to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. When you return to the website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, bypassing the need to register again.

You should be aware that cookies and other similar identification methods may be used to associate you with the computer or device you are using. These cookies do not reveal your identity to us or provide us with personally identifiable information about your use of the site. You can change your cookie preferences by using the settings on your web browser that allows you to delete or refuse the setting of cookies. Some cookies may be stored on your computer and are not deleted when you close your browser. These permanent cookies retain your preferences for a particular website, allowing those preferences to remain for future browsing sessions, but no information is collected from you.

You can accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the website. Intech keeps track of the pages you visit to determine what portion of the website is the most popular or most used. This data is used to deliver customized content and promotions within the website to users whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. For more information about deleting or blocking cookies, please visit: www.allaboutcookies.org.

The types of cookies and tracking technologies that we may use are as follows:

Strictly necessary cookies: Generally, these cookies will be essential first party session cookies and are required for the operation of our website. They include cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website and help ensure the content of the pages you request load quickly. Without these cookies, you will not be able to access our online services (e.g., our website or a service on our website) which you have requested.

Performance and functionality cookies: These cookies can be first-party or third-party, session or persistent cookies. These cookies allow us to provide you with a more personal experience so that you do not have to reset your preferences each time you visit our website. To deliver a more personal experience, they enable us to personalize content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (e.g., your choice of language or region). Without these cookies, certain functionality may become unavailable.

Analytics and customization cookies: These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our website is being used, how effective our marketing campaigns are, or to help us customize our website for you.

Flash cookies and other third-party tracking technologies: The Adobe Flash Player (and similar applications) use technology to remember settings, preferences, and usage like browser cookies but these are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your Web browser. This technology creates locally stored objects that are often referred to as “Flash cookies.” Intech does not use Flash cookies. We do not have access to or control over these third-party tracking technologies.

Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on a visitor’s device for the period specified in the cookie. On the date specified in the expiration, the cookie will be removed from the visitor’s disk unless deleted by the visitor previously.

Advertising cookies: We collaborate with a third-party ad network to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and Web beacons to collect non-personal information about your activities on other Web sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking here: http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/opt-out-cookies.html). Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs): We employ software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage the website by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages or in emails and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs in emails to you. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please see “Opting Out and Unsubscribing.”

Log files: We may collect demographic information, such as your postal code, age, gender, preferences, interests, and favorites using log files that are not associated with your name or other personal information. There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by us. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, internet service provider (ISP), the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, clickstream data, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by Intech to provide general statistics regarding use of the website. For these purposes, we do link this automatically collected data to Personal Information such as name, email address, address, and phone number.

Third-party tracking technologies: Our Privacy Policy does not cover the use of cookies and web beacons by any tracking utility company. We do not have access or control over these third-party tracking technologies.

4. Managing Cookies

The browsers of most computers, smartphones and other web-enabled devices are typically set up to accept cookies. You can manage cookies that are placed on your browser by activating the setting on your internet browser that allows you to refuse the setting of some or all cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted.

For more information about how to do this, you can use the following links for guidance: Disable/enable Adobe cookies, Control Google web analytics and cookies (browser add-on), Control all cookies with your browser (please note some parts of the website will not function when all cookies are disabled), and Understand Google’s use of advertising cookies.

We understand that some internet browsers have incorporated ‘Do Not Track’ features. Most of these features, when turned on, send a signal or preference to the websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. This is different from blocking or deleting cookies, as browsers with a ‘Do Not Track’ feature enabled may still accept cookies. Our websites do not currently recognize and respond to ‘Do Not Track’ requests.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time-to-time to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
